Focus Media Sells Stake In Online Ad Subsidiary Allyes To Silver Lake

Three years after paying $225 million to buy online ad company Allyes, Chinese ad firm Focus Media is selling a majority stake in the company, which bills itself as China’s “largest online media service provider,” to PE firm Silver Lake. Silver Lake is paying $124 million to Focus Media (NSDQ: FMCN) for a 62 percent stake in Allyes.

In a release, Focus Media says that selling the stake will let it concentrate on its core businesses, which include an in-store ad network and movie theater ad network.

The company had tried to spin off the Allyes business via an IPO two years ago but pulled those plans when the market collapsed. Reports at the time said that the IPO might value Allyes at $1 billion-plus.

Watch as NBC covers this year's exciting action from the All England Club

Yep. . .wasn't live so I skipped it. Would have been nice to see it that way, as we often have in the past, and I wasn't at all interested in watching it on delay.

I am also really irritated by this. Was thrilled to be able to relax and watch the match this morning on my day off, but noooo. Anyone logging into Facebook or Twitter, or even accidentally glancing at a news-oriented start page knew who won before the match even started. I appreciated the streaming video while at work this week, but even that was delayed. Why bother watching televised sports anymore when apparently all I'm supposed to care about it the end result?

Thanks for posting, I though I was an idiot, cause I couldn't find the live match…well, I will not be watching NBC today, even though I was looking forward to and hoping for this matchup all week.  NBC just pissed me off and i will boycott for sure.

Justin.tv and Ustream.tv did a roaring trade today. NBC seriously dropped the ball.

We sure have come a long way.

Just think…it was almost 29 years ago we were all watching Hee Haw instead of the live USA / Russia hockey game.

I agree, I am completely vexed.  It is quite an annoyance to not be able to enjoy this ultimate tennis event live. I will have to live with listening to the broadcast via web on wimbledon.org

I am HIGHLY frustrated right now. We're in the middle of a great match, and I am incapable of finding a place to watch Roddick vs. Murray live online for free. NBCSports.com had the Roddick/Hewitt match LIVE online the other day, but that was AFTER they'd stopped showing matches on TV for the day. Just show us this one live, please!! Time delayed isn't worth it when you can go online and find out who wins in an instant!
