Online video investment is now paying off for Channel 4. The Future Media division turned in a £3.2 million operating profit during 2009.
That’s up from 2008, after what C4 says was “savings on platform costs”, following heavy investment in video.

Telegraph.co.uk’s sources have been promising the paper Hulu’s imminent UK launch for so long now that, now it’s reporting “further delays” to the U.S. VOD site’s ambitions here, we’re barely inclined to mention it - but anyway… Despite claiming in August that Hulu was in “most advanced discussions” to land…

YouTube has secured its first long-form on-demand UK TV content, doing a deal that sees Channel 4 add the same shows to the service that are already carried on the broadcaster’s own 4oD service. Nearly 3,000 hours of shows - including Hollyoaks, Skins and Peep Show - will be available…
